Batman Beyond Makes a Comeback at DC
The fine folks over a Newsarama.com have reported that DC Comics editor Dan DiDio has confirmed that Batman Beyond will be coming returning in the form of a mini-series by the publishers in 2010.
A spin-off of the popular Batman: The Animated Series, Batman Beyond was set in a future Gotham City, and followed the exploits of Terry McGinis, who took over the mantle of Batman from Bruce Wayne, who served as a guide and mentor for the fledgling Batman. Of course, it was later revealed that McGinis also had other ties to Wayne in an episode of Justice League Unlimited.
According to DiDio, the mini is in response to a lot of fan requests.
From Newsarama.com“There will be a Terry McGinnis mini-series early next year. We’ve heard the fans, we’ve heard everyone’s interest. And right now we’re planning to put out a Batman Beyond mini-series in 2010.”
I’m pretty stoked about this news. I loved the Batman Beyond series and can’t wait to see what DC can do with this character. It should be good, if it’s done right.
