Plot Synopsis & Images for “Justice League: Crisis on Two Earth” Released
The fine folks at Ain’t it Cool News have some information regarding the next DCU Animation direct-to-DVD feature Justice League: Crisis on Two Worlds, coming out Spring of next year.
Along with two official images from the movie, there is a plot synopsis and some casting information as well.
From WB Press Release on AICN.comWarner Home Video will distribute in Spring 2010 (finalizing date soon)
An original story from award-winning animation/comics writer Dwayne McDuffie (Justice League) rooted in DC Comics’ popular canon of “Crisis” stories.
Bruce Timm (Superman Doomsday, Green Lantern) is executive producer. Lauren Montgomery (Wonder Woman, Green Lantern) and Sam Liu (Superman/Batman: Public Enemies) are co-directors.
In Justice League: Crisis on Two Earths, a “good” Lex Luthor arrives from an alternate universe to recruit the Justice League to help save his Earth from the Crime Syndicate, a gang of villainous characters with virtually identical super powers to the Justice League. What ensues is the ultimate battle of good versus evil in a war that threatens both planets and, through a diabolical plan launched by Owlman, puts the balance of all existence in peril.
All-star voice cast led by Mark Harmon (NCIS) as Superman, James Woods (Ghosts of Mississippi) as Owlman, Chris Noth (Sex and the City, Law & Order) as Lex Luthor, William Baldwin (Dirty Sexy Money) as Batman, Gina Torres (Serenity, Firefly) as Super Woman and Bruce Davison (X-Men) as the President.

For more information about the movie, make sure you get your hands on the next DCU animated feature Superman/Batman: Public Enemies, scheduled to be released September 29, 2009.
I gotta say, even though they had a rocky start (Superman: Doomsday and Batman: Gotham Knights just weren’t that good), these DCU animated features have been rocking of late. Since those first couple of not-so-great flicks, we’ve had New Frontier, Wonder Woman and Green Lantern: First Flight, which have just been extraordinary and really captured the characters. And, from everything I’ve seen of Superman/Batman: Public Enemies (which was a lot, considering I was in the panel at San Diego Comic-Con), they’re keeping their A-game!
It also helps that this is based on a script that McDuffie originally wrote for the Justice League animated series, so we know that the movie’s in good hands. I only wish that they had choosen to use the JLU-style of animation and used the series voices. I think it would have been really cool to give us a glimpse back into that universe, especially considering how popular it is.
Still, the Crime Syndicate has long been one of my favorite villain groups and I’m definitely looking forward to this one. I, for one, can’t wait until the Spring of 2010!
