Want to help re-make Star Wars ?
The folks at “Star Wars Uncut” are remaking Star Wars Episode IV (aka “A New Hope”).
I can hear you thinking “Yeah, just what the world needs – another Star Wars Parody/Remake/Reboot/Spoof/Brick Flick/Fan Film.”
…which is exactly their goal. They’ve chopped the original film into 472 separate 15 second segments. Guests are asked to claim a favorite segment, re-create it in their own style, and upload the results.
Here’s the Trailer…
As you can see, the result is a patchwork of styles and intents. There are already some great moments available (Luke as “the Dude”, an all female cast, Dollocks, and even a bit of “Pulp Fiction”). It looks like the finished product will be a lot of fun.
Until the final film is cut together, you have to watch each 15 second segment by itself. You can see the completed bits on their site, or sign up to contribute some of your own work!
I think this is a great idea. I haven’t seen them all, but here’s my favorite bit, so far…)
