Terri Garey gave this Geek Gyrl the all clear to share a bowl of forbidden fruit with fellow gothic geeks, with the release of her next book’s cover AND and excerpt. I know, right? Feel free to squee, now, and remember…sometimes, it’s really good to be the geek.

So, without any more ado (not that we were offering a lot of ado with the fruit….) here is the cover art for the next book in the Sammy Devine trilogy, the Devil’s Bargain series.

Terri Garey's A Devil Named Desire - book 2 in the Devil Bargain trilogy

Yummy, yes?

To add to our devilish feast, Terri is sharing an excerpt from A Devil Named Desire.

Terri Garey's Devil Without a Cause - Book One

If you’ve read the first book (what? you haven’t? rectify that, easily – book one is Devil Without a Cause, and if you click on this handy live link, it’ll take you right to Amazon, to order it. And here’s a link to our review of book one….now, I’ll stop digressing, and get back o topic…) you’ll understand that Sammy and Gabriel (yeah, that one – the angel that hasn’t fallen) have a …complicated relationship. In A Devil Named Desire, Gabriel must return to this mortal coil, and temptation ensues.

Per Terri’s book blurb for A Devil Named Desire:

Forbidden fruit is always the sweetest…

…and no one knows that better than Sammy Divine.  Once an angel, now cast down, Sammy’s out to prove he’s not the only angel who can be led into temptation…

Hope Henderson’s sister has disappeared without a trace, and Hope will do anything to find her–even make a deal with the Devil.  An ancient text holds the key to unspeakable power, and it’s the Archangel Gabriel’s job to make sure it stays hidden, even if he has to become mortal to do it.  Lives, love, and the fate of the world hang in the balance, as Hope and Gabriel learn that when passion’s involved, desire can be a devil that’s impossible to control.

And now what you’ve been panting for…here’s your bit of forbidden fruit…the excerpt from the book, which will have to hold you over until January 31, 2012:

“I’d really like to kiss you.”

And then she did, and Gabe’s universe expanded to include the sensation of soft lips on his own, the exchange of warm breath, and a throb in his lower belly that was near pleasure/pain.  He had no idea why he let her do it except that she seemed so precious and fragile, so vulnerable, as though she offered him her loneliness and her sorrows along with her body.

Heaven help him, he could not help but drink them in.

Closer she moved, and closer still, until her breasts were against his chest, and it was this that broke the spell; the desire to put his arms around her and drag her even closer came over him like a wave, and with it came the knowledge that if he let it, he would drown.

Abruptly, he jerked his head back, ending the kiss.  “Stop,” he whispered, looking into her eyes.  ”You must stop.”

Sounds like Gabriel might be in hot water….
T erri Garey's Nicki Styx seriesIf you’re dying for more of Terri’s wonderfully wicked world, this all started with the Nicki Styx series. Dead Girls Are Easy is the first book in the series, in which you meet Nicki and myriad other mysterious goths, goth-wannabes, and ghosts. After a near life experience, Nicki gains the ability to see, and speak with, ghosts. This is not as fun as it might sound, as you’ll learn bout, when you read the whole series. One of the myriad cast of characters you’ll meet is Sammy Devine, the Devil Himself. Let me say, though…while I really recommend reading this series, you do not need to read about Nicki and her ghostly exploits, to dive into Sammy’s stories. The Devil’s Bargain series can stand on its own, apart from the Nicki Styx series.
So go for it….jump into the fire…it’s nice and toasty, and your cheeks look lovely in the glow of the flames.
