Horrible Emmy Announcement! The status is NOW Quo!
Neil Patrick Harris was the athletic, yet luminous host to the Emmys, last night. He did his usual, quirky, amusing best, but the highlight for fans and members of the Evil League of Evil the world over occurred when Dr. Horrible took over the 2009 Emmys for one brief, sort-of shiny, slightly buffered moment. Just as eccentric and fun as the three episode online series, these three minutes were the best moments of the Emmys. And, by some crazy, random happenstance, Dr. Horrible had been nominated for an Emmy, too.
Better than getting an extra frozen yogurt, the Emmy for Outstanding Special Class short format live action entertainment programs, otherwise known as the award for the most incomprehensible category, was awarded to Joss Whedon and the creative team behind Dr. Horrible’s Sing Along Blog.
Joss said it best when he said, “the greatest expression of rebellion is joy.”
