Star Trek fans around the world are anxiously awaiting the release of the highly anticipated and long awaited Star Trek Online, the MMORPG set in the universe created 42 years ago by Gene Rodenberry. Scheduled to launch February 2, 2010, fans of role playing games and Trekkers alike will be able to explore the Star Trek universe like never before.

Taking place in the early 25^th Century (about 30 years after the events of Star Trek: Nemesis), players will be able to choose to play as either a Federation captain or a Klingon warrior. Whether you choose to captain your own Federation starship or help to expand the Klingon Empire, players will be able to visit some of the most iconic locations in the Star Trek universe, explore strange new worlds, and make contact with new alien species. Like most MMORPG’s, there will be mission based play, with STO’s play meant to feel as if the player is the star of their own Star Trek television episode.

Cryptic Studios, the creators of the game, have released details on the exclusive bonuses for those who order the Deluxe Digital Collector’s Edition of the game (which is only available at the official site for $59.99. Bonuses to the edition include:

• Original Star Trek Uniform Set: Three uniforms from the original series (blue, red, yellow).
• Exclusive “KHAAAN!” Emote: An unforgettable moment from the second Star Trek Film. This exclusive emote allows players to relive Kirk’s unforgettable moment of fury, with the timeless cry… “KHAAAN!”
• Exclusive Klingon Blood Wine Toast Emote: Raise a glass like a Klingon! Greet other players with an exclusive Klingon gesture –the blood wine toast.
• Unique Registry Prefix: Give your ship the coveted NX prefix, seen only on a handful of elite Starfleet vessels like the Defiant, 22nd century Enterprise, and Prometheus.
• Unique Ship Item: Automated Defense Battery. This Tactical Module grants any ship a passive 360 arc attack power with a short range.
