Though Hollywood seems incapable of making anything but remakes nowadays, I’m not generally a fan. Usually, the remake never lives up to the original, especially when it comes to cult-classic films, like Clash of the Titans. Say what you will about the cheesy effects and the questionable casting (I mean…Burgess Meredith? The Penguin as a Greek?!), the movie still holds as one of my all time favorites and I can watch it anytime it’s on television and still enjoy it like crazy.

So, when I heard they were redoing Clash of the Titans, I was less than impressed. Now that they’ve released the trailer, I have to say, I’m actually very curious about the movie. I’ve learned over the years not to get too excited about something simply from the trailers because, more often than not, I end up disappointed at the final product (the recent Superman/Batman: Public Enemies comes to mind).

That being said, if the movie can come close to what I see in the trailer, I think I might be happy. It won’t ever replace the deep-seated love I have for my guilty-pleasure of the original, but it looks to be a cool movie in it’s own right. I could do with out the rock-ballad music…it just seems so out of place. But the rest of it looks pretty cool.
