Can you string your X & Y chromosomes together for poetry?
Ken MacLeod, writer in residence at the Genomics Forum, conceived this idea to collect short forms of writing, such as poetry, short stories, flash fictions, etc., all inspired by genes and genomics.
If you’re inspired by your genes, or someone else’s, check out this site, read up just a wee bit on the science, claim a gene (I took #5) and send your submission to MacLeod through the link on his site. You should make sure to read the contributions already posted. I particularly liked Mike Holmes’ “The DNA Cowboys.”
