Feast your eyes on these Geeky Previews pt. 1

As the geeks circle in the waters of rumor and conjecture, they smell the green-tinged blood of Fall Season Previews. One of the most eagerly awaited previews of the returning shows would be Smallville, Season 9. But first…The folks at CW (and their sponsors) have kindly prepared a Season 8 in 2 minutes recap. If you need a little primer, or you just want to check in but don’t have time to watch the whole season on DVD, this could prove pretty handy. Go ahead, check it out, we’ll wait for you.
Back so soon? Okay, then let’s not dither any longer; here’s your full Smallville Season 9 Preview(that was not filming on a hand held camera at ComicCon, I promise you.) Smallville moves to its new night with the new season, airing on Friday, 9/25/09 at 8/7c. Make sure you come back afterwards, though, because we have more fun for your peepers, here at Geek Speak.
Sticking with the CW, Thursday nights will now be the paranormal powerhouse, starting with the much anticipated (by teenage girls all over the country, anyway) Vampire Diaries, based on the series by L. J. Smith. For a little pre-show fun, don’t miss the online miniseries based on the new show, A Darker Truth. Vampire Diaries will begin Thursday, 9/10/09 8/7c.

Following the vampires, darker things go bump in the night, as the Winchester brothers return in Supernaturalat 9/8c. As with Smallville, a lot happened last season on Smallville; the brothers literally faced their inner demons. To get up to speed, take a couple minutes to watch the CW Recap of Supernatural. I’ve been a big supporter and fan of Supernatural from the beginning, so in spite of highs and lows in plotting last season, I am very eager to see the Winchesters, again. As an added bonus, if you like the remix of O Death playing during the preview, you’ll be able to download it for free on the main site for Supernatural. Don’t miss out on the freebie; it may disappear like a ghost caught by the Winchesters.
For the children of the ’80′s, the V miniseries and subsequent television show remains a beloved memory. We who were kids now makeup a large part of the adult viewing audience who can’t wait for the re-envisioning coming to ABC this Fall. It will debut on Tuesday 11/3/09 8/7c. The preview for V looks amazing; the ships are incredible and the cast includes some heavy hitter actors from prior geek faves, like Firefly, Smallville and Lost. For a blast from the bast to tide you over until November, you can watch full episodes on the WB.

This concludes part one of our Fall Preview of Previews. We’ll be adding more so come back again, come back often and bring your friends. Heck just go ahead and book mark the site, now.

The 2009-2010 television season is great for geeks! I don’t remember a time when there was such a sci-fi/fantasy/gothic/supernatural TV proliferation. Here’s hoping that most, if not all of these, are huge successes and the studios keep up the good work of filling our little geeky hears with squees of joy!
