It’s a bird, it’s a plane, it’s…free Superman comics!

USA Today, through usatoday.com and in conjunction with DC Comics, will be presenting the 12 week run of serial Superman comics from the new Wednesday Comics series. (For details on Wednesday Comics, see Geekspeaker’s 7/8/09 Comics blog.) John Arcudi is penning the Superman installments, with gorgeous art by Lee Bermejo. My first thought on reading the strip was, “feels like a classic comic strip story,” so this gives me hope that DC has achieved their goal of bringing back the good old days…for $3.99 an issue. Now if only Neil Gaiman’s Metamorpho was going to be presented in 12 weekly, easy to read online strips. Oh well, a Geek Gyrl can dream, right?

Thanks to Pop Candy for the heads up.
